ROSALINE came out today.
I'm v v v v v excited about this project with my pals Paul and Christian in Low Talker! They're responsible for all the initial grooves and instrumentation on this and all these upcoming tracks. That's the beauty of this collaboration; less work for me and I love the sounds these fellers find with their expensive synthesizers and fancy pedals. These guys had already done the heavy lifting; I came to them AGES ago asking to use some of their Jamuary demos that they had posted on Instagram to write LB songs to. They were into it so I popped some lyrics on top and we fleshed out the productions together in Nashville and later remotely using a ground-breaking new technology called the internet.
Lyrically I admit it's a little scattered. Here's the idea. I wrote this one about the experience of becoming a father. When Rosie came along I suddenly felt as though life before her was sort of silly and I felt embarrassed for how seriously I had been taking myself. For me this song is a nice little reminder to myself, and Rosie, to laugh at ourselves more often. Life is for living, baby!
